A mystery bonus is a promotion where you do not know the prize until it is revealed. You might open a box, spin a wheel or tap a card, and the amount awarded is drawn from a range. When we checked in November 2026, PJOK's banners showed a mystery bonus of up to ৳100,000. Headlines like that are designed to grab attention, so this post explains how mystery bonus casino offers typically work, how to estimate what one is worth, and which terms change the answer most.
How mystery bonuses usually work
Most mystery bonuses follow a similar pattern. You qualify by meeting a condition, such as making a deposit, reaching a turnover level or logging in on a promotion day. You then receive a reveal, and the prize is chosen at random from a prize table. Prizes might be bonus funds, free spins or cash, and bonus funds usually come with wagering requirements before they can be withdrawn.
The phrase "up to" is the key. It describes the top of the range, not the typical outcome. In almost every prize table, small prizes are common and large ones are rare. PJOK's exact prize table and conditions were not visible to us without logging in, so everything below is a general illustration.
Expected value with a hypothetical prize table
Expected value is the average prize you would receive if you could repeat the reveal many times. To calculate it, multiply each prize by its chance and add the results. The table below is entirely made up to show the method. It is not PJOK's prize table.
| Hypothetical prize | Chance | Prize × chance |
|---|---|---|
| ৳10 | 60% | ৳6.00 |
| ৳50 | 30% | ৳15.00 |
| ৳500 | 9.9% | ৳49.50 |
| ৳100,000 | 0.001% | ৳1.00 |
| Other small prizes | 0.099% | ৳0.10 |
Reading the example
Add the right-hand column and the expected value is about ৳71.60 per reveal. Notice that the ৳100,000 headline contributes only ৳1 to that figure, because its chance is so small. The ৳500 prize, which might appear in one reveal in ten, does most of the work. This pattern is common: the advertised top prize sells the promotion, while the mid-range prizes decide what it is worth.
Now add the cost of qualifying. If, hypothetically, qualifying required ৳2,000 of turnover on slots with a 4% long-run cost, the expected cost of qualifying would be ৳80. Against an expected prize of ৳71.60, the promotion would be slightly negative on average, before wagering on the prize. If the requirement were a single deposit with no extra play, the value would look much better. Conditions matter more than headlines.
Terms that change the value
When you can see the terms inside your account, check these points. Each one moves the expected value up or down.
- Qualifying condition: deposit, turnover or simply logging in.
- Prize type: cash, bonus funds or free spins.
- Wagering on the prize: for example, a ৳500 prize with 10x wagering needs ৳5,000 of bets.
- Maximum withdrawal from the prize, if any.
- Expiry: how long you have to claim and to clear any wagering.
- Eligible games and how much each counts toward wagering.
Using this on PJOK
Log in, open the promotions page and read the mystery bonus terms in full before taking part. If a prize table is published, run the calculation above with the real figures. If it is not, treat the bonus as a small, unpredictable extra rather than a reason to deposit more. Our wagering calculator post shows how to work out turnover by hand, and the bonuses hub explains other promotion types. For a related promotion, see lucky bonuses.
Three steps
How to value a mystery bonus in 3 steps
- 1Read the conditions
Open the PJOK promotions page while logged in and note how you qualify and what the prize can be.
- 2Estimate the average prize
If a prize table is shown, multiply each prize by its chance and add them up.
- 3Subtract the cost
Deduct the expected cost of qualifying and any wagering on the prize before deciding.
