Every bonus with wagering asks the same question: how much do I need to bet before I can withdraw? Online calculators give the answer instantly, but doing it by hand shows you why the answer is what it is, and that understanding helps you spot expensive terms. This post builds a wagering calculator in four lines of arithmetic, then adds game weighting and expected cost. All the amounts are hypothetical. PJOK had not published wagering rules that we could confirm, so use the live terms in your account.
Line 1: what the multiple applies to
Wagering terms say something like "10x the bonus" or "10x deposit plus bonus". The difference is large. Suppose, hypothetically, you deposit ৳1,000 and receive a ৳1,000 bonus. At 10x the bonus, turnover is ৳10,000. At 10x deposit plus bonus, it is 10 × ৳2,000 = ৳20,000. Same headline multiple, twice the betting.
Some terms also apply wagering to the deposit alone, or to winnings from free spins. Write down exactly which amount the multiple applies to before doing anything else.
Line 2: game weighting
Many bonuses count different games at different rates. Slots might count 100%, table games 10% or 20%, and some games 0%. If a game counts 20%, each ৳100 bet adds only ৳20 to your progress. To find the real betting needed, divide the turnover by the weighting.
| Hypothetical turnover | Game weighting | Real betting needed |
|---|---|---|
| ৳10,000 | 100% | ৳10,000 |
| ৳10,000 | 50% | ৳20,000 |
| ৳10,000 | 20% | ৳50,000 |
| ৳10,000 | 10% | ৳100,000 |
Line 3: expected cost of clearing
Every Taka bet costs, on average, the game's long-run house edge. Multiply real betting by that cost. If you clear ৳10,000 of turnover on slots with a 4% long-run cost (96% RTP), the expected cost is ৳400. Against a ৳1,000 bonus, you would expect to finish with about ৳600 of value on average, before any other conditions.
Repeat the sum for 20x on deposit plus bonus: ৳40,000 of betting at 4% is ৳1,600 expected cost, more than the ৳1,000 bonus. On average, that bonus loses value. This is the most important line in the calculator, because it turns an abstract multiple into a Taka figure you can compare with the bonus.
Line 4: time and stake size
Divide real betting by your stake to get the number of bets. ৳10,000 at ৳20 a spin is 500 spins; at 10 spins a minute, that is about 50 minutes. Many bonuses have expiry dates and a maximum bet while wagering, such as a cap on each spin. A low cap with a large turnover can mean many hours of play. Check whether the expiry gives you enough time at a stake you are comfortable with.
Put it together and the whole calculator is: turnover = multiple × amount; real betting = turnover ÷ weighting; expected cost = real betting × house edge; number of bets = real betting ÷ stake.
- Turnover = multiple × amount it applies to.
- Real betting = turnover ÷ game weighting.
- Expected cost = real betting × long-run cost.
- Bets needed = real betting ÷ stake per bet.
Using the calculator on PJOK
Log in, open the promotions page and find the bonus terms. Note the multiple, what it applies to, game weightings, maximum bet, expiry and any maximum withdrawal. Run the four lines above. If the expected cost is close to or above the bonus, consider declining it. Our wagering requirements guide explains the terms themselves, and the deposit bonus guide shows how percentage matches work.
Three steps
How to calculate wagering in 3 steps
- 1Write down the terms
Note the multiple, what it applies to, game weighting, maximum bet and expiry from the PJOK promotion.
- 2Run the four lines
Work out turnover, real betting, expected cost and number of bets with the formulas above.
- 3Compare with the bonus
If expected cost approaches the bonus amount, the offer may not be worth taking.
