Football is the world's biggest betting sport, and its markets reflect one stubborn feature of the game: draws are common. A 0-0 or 1-1 is a perfectly ordinary result, so the basic market has three outcomes instead of two, and many other markets exist mainly to remove or price the draw. This guide explains the main football markets, converts their odds into percentages, and shows with a hypothetical Taka example how the bookmaker's margin sits inside every price.

The main football markets

Most sportsbooks group football markets in a similar way. Market names vary a little between sites, and the depth of markets for a given match depends on the league, so treat this as a map rather than a list of what PJOK will show for every game.

Turning odds into percentages

Decimal odds convert to an implied chance by dividing 1 by the odds. Suppose a hypothetical match is priced Home 2.10, Draw 3.40, Away 3.60. The implied chances are 47.6%, 29.4% and 27.8%. Add them and you get 104.8%, not 100%. The extra 4.8% is the bookmaker's margin, sometimes called the overround.

What that means for you: if you bet ৳1,000 spread exactly in proportion to those chances, you would get back about ৳954 whichever result happened. The margin is built in before a ball is kicked. Comparing margins across markets is a quick way to see which are priced more tightly. Our odds guide explains the conversion in more detail.

Handicaps and totals, worked through

An Asian handicap of -0.5 on the home side simply means they must win; a draw loses. A line of -1.0 means a one-goal win returns your stake, and a two-goal win pays. Quarter lines such as -0.75 split your stake across two neighbouring lines. For example, ৳1,000 at -0.75 is ৳500 at -0.5 and ৳500 at -1.0. A one-goal win then pays the first half and returns the second.

Totals work the same way. Over 2.5 goals wins with three or more goals. Whole-number lines like 2.0 return the stake on exactly two goals. Half lines remove the possibility of a push, which is why they are the most common. A team that concedes late in a match can swing a total completely, so it helps to remember that these markets settle on the full 90 minutes plus stoppage time, not extra time.

Keeping football bets in proportion

Football runs almost every day somewhere in the world, which makes it easy to bet more often than planned. A fixed weekly budget, split into equal units, keeps that in check. Our unit betting post explains how to choose a unit, and measuring your ROI shows how to see whether your bets are doing what you think. No market removes the margin, and no tipster can promise results.

Football on PJOK

We could not confirm the leagues, markets or stake limits PJOK offers, so open the sportsbook section of the site or app to see what is listed for a given match. Bet slips show the odds and potential return before you confirm. For in-play markets see live betting, and for the wider sportsbook go back to the sports betting hub.

Questions and answers

What does 1X2 mean in football betting?

It is the full-time result market: 1 is a home win, X is a draw and 2 is an away win. It settles on the score after 90 minutes plus stoppage time, so extra time and penalties do not count unless the market says otherwise.

What is the difference between draw no bet and double chance?

Draw no bet returns your stake if the match is drawn and pays only if your team wins. Double chance covers two results, such as home or draw, so it pays in both cases but at lower odds. Both reduce the impact of the draw in different ways.

Why do quarter handicaps exist?

Quarter lines such as -0.25 or -0.75 split your stake equally across the two nearest lines. This creates outcomes where you win half or lose half, giving finer pricing between whole and half goals.

Which football leagues can I bet on at PJOK?

We could not confirm the league list. Coverage usually depends on the sportsbook supplier and the time of year. Open the football section on PJOK to see the current list of competitions and matches.

Can statistics help with football betting?

Statistics such as shots, expected goals and recent form can help you judge whether a price looks reasonable, but they never make a result certain. Treat any analysis as a way of making clearer decisions within a fixed budget, not as a promise of profit.

Every bet has a cost. Budget it like any other spend, never borrow to play, and stop when it stops being fun. Responsible gaming
